A35AY about Fafa Island Resort

Fafa Island Resort is situated on an 18 acres palm covered offshore island 7Km north of Nuku'alofa, the capital of the Kingdom of Tonga.
It takes 30 minutes by car from international airport to wharf and another 30 minutes by boat from wharf to the island.

They allow me to operate HAM Radio there in the resort. Following is one of many reply emails from them.

> Hello Aki,
> thank you for your email and interest in staying here on Fafa with us
> No problem to bring your antenna with you
> In the past we had many ham radio operators here, from germany, italy, usa and australia.
> So you would be the first japanese on Fafa Island
> We can provide electricity for 24 hours, no problem.
> Best regards from Tonga

A35AY in Feb 2011

Fafa Island Resort

A35AY will be active during Feb 4 to Feb 9, 2011.
QTH is Fafa Island in Tongatapu group (OC-049) in Tonga.

Band: 3.5MHz - 28MHz
Mode: CW and RTTY

Transceiver: TenTec Eagle 100w    Antenna: Random wire on fishing pole with Z11 Pro ATU.
For my DX Vacation Eagle seems BEST. K3 and TS590 are too large, K2 is not stable in digital mode, FT857 and IC706 are too small to use with not good receiver.

QSL: via JA1NLX  Will QSL for all QSOs via Buro and LoTW. Direct QSL will be welcomed with SASE ($2.00 or 1 IRC)

OnLine Log: You can check your QSO at following site. I will upload Log every day only if good internet service is available.
